PATIO BY ZⓈONAMACO inaugurates its second edition as part of the activities of the Art Baja Cultural Festival

The event included a special programme with the participation of curators Juan Canela and Lena Solá Nogué, as well as some of the participating artists.

PATIO BY ZONAMACO will be open to the public from March 9 to May 5 from 10 AM to 6 PM Monday through Sunday.

San Jose del Cabo, March 11, 2024.- Last weekend, PATIO BY ZONAMACO, a program of artistic interventions such as large-scale sculptures, installations, ephemeral pieces, and performances, inaugurated its program in Puerto Los Cabos Sculpture Garden and Hotel The Goose, exhibition venue in San José.

In this edition, 24 proposals participate that were chosen by a curatorial team made up of Juan Canela, (chief curator MAC Panama / co-curator Biennial Arte Paiz Guatemala) and Lena Solá Nogue, (curatorial assistant at the Tamayo Museum, Mexico City). Some of these pieces have received recognition from the Palm Foundation.

The opening included a special program that began with a tour for VIP guests and the press led by curators Canela and Solá together with artists Miguel Fernández de Castro, Rodrigo Garrido, Lorena Ancona, Ariel Schlesinger, Beatriz Cortez, Goga Trascierra, Elti Alejandro López Lora, Chris Wyrick, Steven Jacobi, Kate Kuaimoku, Oso Parado and Laia Estruch.

Later at Hotel El Ganzo a conversation was held with the curators and Lorena Peña Brito, founder of Inari Maru. Art, Imagination and CoastThe following performances were also presented: Kite 4 by the artist Laia Estruch, Beach Labyrinth by Daniel Dugan, Embroidering Dreams by Adriana María Martínez (activation of free performance piece with children from the Padrino Foundation) and DISORDER by Leslie Molina and Jess Whelligan.

In addition to the activities on the occasion of the inauguration of PATIO BY ZONAMACO, other events also took place over the weekend as part of the festival kick-off: Callejoneada and Batucada with BAHIABEAT. Starting at LAB Baja and going through downtown San José del Cabo, Vinyl Nights at Hotel El Ganzo, Conversation and tour with artist: Sean W. Spellman at Drift Hotel, the opening of the exhibition Imaginary of Antequera: A look at Oaxacan art in Los Cabos at NN Gallery, a concert by Dinoflagellates (Gonzalo Lebrija, Francisco Ugarte & Pier Martínez) at Hotel El Ganzo, opening of the exhibition Water and skyby Laura Constanza Medina Mora at Casa Doma, DJ set Camino Saturno at Crania, as well as the DJ set Addie O, Jess C, Lo Stine.

Also taking place was Francois Paris' Open House Studio at Casa Loka Vista, Sunday Beach Vinyls at Hotel El Ganzo Beach Club, Live Music and Performance accompanied by Mezcal at the Drift Hotel and Poolside Sessions at The Rooftop of Hotel El Ganzo.
