→ Art Gallery Alchemy: clay, memory and territory at ABC Art Baja 2026
Within the framework of ABC Art Baja California 2026, the participation of Alchemy Art Gallery It stands out as one of the most sensitive and locally connected proposals within the Todos Santos program. This space, located in the heart of the town, is integrated into the festival circuit as a meeting point where art is not only exhibited, but also experienced through its material, symbolic, and collective aspects.
The gallery presents the work of artist Elena Vásquez, whose art unfolds in a realm where the human, the animal, and the spiritual converge in a profoundly symbolic visual language. Through ceramics and oil painting on wood, she constructs a universe of hybrid beings that evoke ancestral guardians and archaic memories, rooted in the relationship between body, nature, and territory. Inspired by the desert landscapes and the oasis of Baja California Sur, her work falls within an imaginary realm akin to magical realism, where the visible and the invisible are in constant dialogue.
Beyond its aesthetic dimension, Vásquez's practice prompts reflection on the connection to the divine and the urgency of preserving the ecosystems we inhabit. Clay, as a primary material, is not only a medium but an extension of the earth itself: molded and transformed, each piece becomes an almost ritualistic gesture that invites us to reconnect with ancestral knowledge and recognize the essential unity between human beings and the natural environment.
As part of its participation in the festival, Art Gallery Alquimia will activate its space through two special events taking place this March 27 and 28, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, at its headquarters located on Paseo Álvaro Obregón, next to Casa Tota, in downtown Todos Santos. The day March 27 It will take place on Clay and beer workshopIt's an experience that combines manual work with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Meanwhile, the March 28 will be carried out Clay workshop on the pre-Columbian Quimbaya culturewhere participants can explore historical and cultural figures through ceramic practice. With this program, Art Gallery Alquimia not only expands the exhibition experience, but also proposes a direct approach between the public and the creative processes, strengthening the link between art, community and territory within the ABC Art Baja route.
