ABC ART BAJA

Enrique Guerrero Gallery in Todos Santos during ABC Art Baja 2025

The Enrique Guerrero Gallery, renowned for its commitment to contemporary art since its founding in 1997 in Mexico City, has maintained an active presence in Todos Santos for several years. With a solid track record on the national scene, the gallery has consolidated its space in Baja California Sur as a meeting point for contemporary art, promoting programming that engages with its surroundings and enhances the visibility of critical and experimental voices from the regions. Through exhibitions and collaborations with contemporary artists, the Todos Santos location expands Enrique Guerrero's curatorial practice toward proposals that integrate different disciplines and perspectives. The space's approach fosters a sensitive and contextual relationship between art and its surroundings, remaining attentive to the dialogue between the regional and the global. In this sense, more than a physical extension, it represents a conceptual expansion of the gallery in a context distinct from that of the capital. In this edition of ABC Art Baja, one of the featured exhibitions is "Before I Blink · Vol. 2" by artist Zazil Barba. His work stems from scientific and philosophical questions, more as creative drivers than a search for answers. He is interested in the tension between the laws of nature and human perception, and how this rupture gives rise to new ways of understanding time. Through the collection of everyday materials and their assembly, Zazil constructs visual fragments that raise questions about our experience of the world. His practice unfolds in sculpture, video, photography, and installation. With proposals like this, the Enrique Guerrero Gallery in Todos Santos is emerging as a point of convergence between the local and the global, strengthening the region's artistic ecosystem with a critical, poetic, and profoundly contemporary vision. → ENRIQUE GUERRERO
