ABC PLATFORM: a new way to experience art in Baja
→ ABC PLATFORM: A New Way to Experience Art in Baja California. The 2026 edition of ABC Art Baja California presents, for the first time, ABC PLATFORM, an innovative space that will transform the rooms of the Hotel Drift in San José del Cabo into intimate settings for art and design. This initiative invites you to experience art up close: a direct encounter between artwork, creator, and audience. Artists, galleries, design studios, collectives, artisans, and collectors converge here, generating a fresh and open dialogue with new audiences. Conversations: Ideas that Expand the Experience. As part of this edition, the program is enriched with a series of conversations taking place on Friday, March 20, and Sunday, March 22. Led by key figures associated with projects such as AMVLETO and Ginocchio Galería, these encounters open a space to reflect on current artistic practices and their connection to the region. Desert, Culture, and Future: Narratives in Transformation. On Friday the 20th, the discussion “Desert, Culture, and Future: Emerging Narratives in a Transforming Territory” will be presented, moderated by curator Daniela García Romero. Participants include artist Antonio Tercero and Tanya Covarrubias, General Director of the Institute of Culture and Arts of the Municipality of Los Cabos. The event will be held at the Drift Hotel San José del Cabo, in the heart of downtown. In this context, the participation of AMVLETO stands out. This project connects crafts with contemporary art through collective and community-based processes. Their work, based on natural and sustainable materials, translates ancestral knowledge into contemporary languages. AMVLETO has established itself as a bridge between tradition and contemporary art, revaluing artisanal practices beyond the utilitarian and integrating community, territory, and design in line with global discussions on sustainability and collaboration. Territory and Landscape: Art as a Reflection of the Environment. On Sunday the 22nd, the discussion “Territory and Landscape: Their Influence on Artistic Practice” will take place, moderated by Luciano Ginocchio, director of Ginocchio Gallery. Participating in this dialogue will be artist and director of the Sintonía project, Francois Paris, along with the three artists from this first residency, who will share their processes and reflections based on their direct experience with the environment. Within this framework, Ginocchio Gallery reaffirms its relevance as a space with a history dating back to 1988, dedicated to the international promotion of Mexican and Latin American artists. With more than 130 exhibitions and a constant presence at art fairs and in collections, the gallery supports both established and emerging artists, actively contributing to the global projection of Latin American art.
